Memphis, TN. Circa 1991. The Center “Proudly Introduces Omari Baratunde Abayomi, Community Advocate with the Inner City School Improvement Project. Bringing to you a Motivational, Cultural Presentation Entitled “Accepting the Greatness of Our Being,” a Part of “Saving the African American Child” Effort. Designed Especially for Pre-Teens and Teenagers.
 
8.5” x 11” with nine stapled mimeographed pages and illustrated cover page with drawn images of famous black men in history. About VG+ (with rusting to top staple and a touch of wrinkling to rear page). Includes 8 pages of printed letters dating from 1987-1991 praising Abayomi’s work as a speaker in Memphis schools and his commitment and dedication to the city’s students.
 
According to his obituary, Abayomi (1947-2018) worked for Memphis City Schools for 23 years, was a community liaison for the MLK Center, and was a co-founder of a mentoring program for male youths in South Memphis.
