Edgewear, toning, and soiling, about VG. 6 typed pp. In 1936, at the age of 27, Ruth Ellen Church came to the Chicago Tribune as Cooking Editor and used the pseudonym Mary Meade to write columns, recipes, and cookbooks.; the Chicago Tribune reported that under her guidance, “the Tribune was one of the first newspapers to establish a test kitchen. In 1962, Church became the first American to write a regular wine column. She collected dozens of awards from journalism and food service organizations before she retired in 1974.” Church was murdered in her Chicago home in 1991, at the age of 81.
