Front page includes stories on “March on Boston May 17” and “Seattle NAACP to March in Support of Boston School Desegregation.” Advertisements for numerous black-owned businesses throughout, with additional ads, photos, or stories including “Who Do I Be: A Conference on Black Language,” Church News, Scenes for Green Acres Golf Tournament, an article by Civil Rights figure Vernon Jordan entitled “To Be Equal: What To Do About Economy,” and a two-page spread of scenes of a party for City Council President Sam Smith (the first African American to serve as a Seattle city councilman).
