Two (2) Portland, Oregon Mug Shots, 1935 and 1959

Each black and white photograph measures approximately 3” x 4.75” and each has markings over the image (an X or indications of a future crop). The first image is of Edward Joseph Murray; on verso is stamped “FEB 14 1935” and includes 10 typed lines detailing his arrests going back to 1915 for such charges as vagrancy (“picked up while trying to sell jewelry which he claims he found”), burglary, larceny, and assault with a dangerous weapon. Affixed is also a newspaper clipping saying that this “‘four-time loser’ was killed in a fist fight at the Oregon state penitentiary.” The second image is of Geraldine Knight and stamped “JUN 6 1959” on verso. Affixed on verso is a newspaper clipping detailing that she was a “suspect in check passing ring” and that she may be wanted by LAPD for similar charges.
