WWII Naval Academy Notebook

Notebook containing lecture notes and notes from readings belonging to Lt. (J9) Lester Moore, United States Navy. VG+, browning to pages, 2” of covers at tail separated from spiral binding. Moore (1924-2009) graduated for the United States Naval Academy in 1946 before serving seven years as an officer in the Navy Submarine Service. This Sprial Composition Book, Marginal Ruled, presumably from his time at the Academy in the mid 1940s, contains handwritten lecture notes on recto and versos of all but two of the 54 pages. Equations, drawings, and charts throughout. Touches on chemical warfare, poisons, chemical and vomiting agents and their psychological effects, incendiaries, decontamination, effects of radiation on the body and fall out problems. An intriguing peek at the warfare concerns being taught at the Naval Academy during the decade of the second World War. Item #355
