Roxbury, MA, experienced two riots in 1968 in the aftermath of Martin Luther King’s assassination. According to the archives at the University of Massachusetts, “The Roxbury Action Program and Black Panther Party of Boston were both founded in the Roxbury section of Boston following the riots of 1968.” The Roxbury Action Program’s mission, according to its website, is to promote “equity and inclusion for black and brown residents to ensure an active, vibrant and healthy community life.”
 
The top portion of the calendar each month features a significant Black figure or a Boston-area institution with photos (some courtesy of the Boston Globe) and text, including Martin Luther King Jr., Malcolm X, Mary McLeod Bethune, Marcus Garvey, and Toussaint L’Overture; the bottom portion on the calendar lists Black Holidays, RAP Awardee Birthdays, and RAP meetings.
 
A scarce survival printed during the US Bicentennial, with none appearing in commerce, auction records, or OCLC. Item #1260
