As described in the manual’s Introduction, the aim of this program is to encourage and empower you to think for yourself: “Part tool, part game and part philosopher on a disk, MIND MIRROR is an innovative software package that helps you see familiar things in a new way,” Sections include mind maps, life simulations, mind play vs. mind tools, and levels of play. According to Robert Greenfield’s biography of Leary, Mind Mirror (which originated from Leary’s Berkeley thesis) was an early foray into the gaming market, a game “in which players created their own psychological profiles by answering questions in which they rated themselves on a variety of personal attributes” (551).
