National Lampoon’s Animal House

New York: 21st Century Communications, 1978. First Edition. Quarto. 115 pp. [16]. A VG+ copy (faint musty odor, lower corner crease to first ten pages) in colorful printed wraps, “the full-color, illustrated novel from the hit movie.” SIGNED by John Belushi on title page. Together with another copy, later printing, Near Fine. INSCRIBED by Belushi’s wife Judith Jacklin Belushi, who designed the original book cover: “Howard, Many thanks for your help with Titters 101. Judith Jacklin Belushi.” This Howard is either Howard Mandelbaum, co-author of a book on Art Deco design in Hollywood, who is included in the “Special Thanks” section in Titters 101 (1984), or perhaps Howard Hesseman, best known for playing Dr. Johnny Fever in the hit TV show WKRP in Cincinnati, who was a friend of John, Judith, and Anne Beatts, one of the editors of Titters 101 (see Woodward, Wired, p. 300).
