INSCRIBED by MacMahon to Nicholas Wreden (and wife), his editor at Dutton, on the ffep in the year of publication. Wreden’s ownership inscription on the front board is also present. MacMahon is the author of The Lion Tamer and Children of the Rainbow, and his work has been compared favorably to some of the best Irish short story writers of the previous century. Item #136
